Sugar Sense is an independent companion app for continuous glucose monitors (CGM). It connects to FreeStyle Libre (through LibreLinkUp), Dexcom (through Dexcom Share) and self-hosted Nightscout sites, and shows real-time glucose with trend arrows, high and low alerts, a predictive heading-low warning, Time in Range statistics and family sharing through Care Circle.
What Sugar Sense is not
Sugar Sense is a software companion, not a medical device, and it must never be used for insulin dosing or other treatment decisions. It is not affiliated with Abbott, Dexcom or Nightscout, and it has no connection to any supplement, pill or other product sold under a similar “Sugar Sense” name. If you found a website selling a glycemic-support formula, that is a different company. This site, sugarsense.io, and the Sugar Sense app on the App Store are the only official homes of the Sugar Sense CGM app.
Who builds it
Sugar Sense is built by Retarget OÜ, a small independent company, and is led by its founder Irakli Kurtanidze, who has lived with type 1 diabetes for more than 12 years and built the app he needed himself first. Every guide on this site is educational, dose-free and written in plain English. You can read the full story in the founder’s own words.
